Jesus leaves for Galilee

Now here's a passage I have never heard much made over.

Joh 4:1 When therefore the Lord knew how the Pharisees had heard that Jesus made and baptized more disciples than John,

Joh 4:2 (Though Jesus himself baptized not, but his disciples,)

Jesus, at this time was apparently preaching the same (first step only?) message as John the Baptist - the message of repentance of/for sin and his disciples were baptizing those who took the message to heart in the same manner as John.

Mat 4:12 Now when Jesus had heard that John was cast into prison, he departed into Galilee;

 

Mar 1:14 Now after that John was put in prison, Jesus came into Galilee, preaching the gospel of the kingdom of God,

 

Luk 4:14 And Jesus returned in the power of the Spirit into Galilee: and there went out a fame of him through all the region round about.
